'''[[History of the Delta Sector#Nanotrasen|Nanotrasen]]''' had already been doing research into developing '''[[History of the Delta Sector#Psionics|psionics]]''' as a way to get an advantage in their war with the Syndicate. However, without knowledge of their origin or nature, progress had been slow. In the Nexus, they saw opportunity.

It is documented that this was a “lump sum” paid for by multiple large corporations for “protection,” although most of these agencies had their own active security.

It operates as an electoral democracy with representatives elected from each of the sovereign countries on Earth. While the countries continue to govern themselves individually, they all fall under the '''UEA’s''' policies and laws.

In 2156, after major infighting and a ten year long legislative gridlock across the '''UEA''' Senate and Judiciary Council, the '''[[United Nations Armed Forces]]''' commandeered control over Sol and its colonies, leading to a major collapse of the '''UEA''' and its leadership.

This highly volatile substance was the catalyst that kicked off humanity’s age of space exploration by allowing Faster-Than-Light travel. Soon enough, humans had spread out to the far corners of the Milky Way galaxy, colonizing thousands of planets.

Mega-Corporations began to surface as the powerhouses of multiple star systems, using their immense wealth to subjugate and exploit the natives and weak colonies of underdeveloped and recently colonized planets to further their own agendas. Many of these Mega-Corporations established themselves as sovereign entities, akin to an earthly autocracy with its own systems of government, security, and justice.
