Using cut-throat business tactics they easily dominated their competition, absorbing many rival corporations into their ranks. They remain the dominant superpower in the research, development, and exploration sectors.

Nanotrasen is the dominant megacorporation of the universe. While ostensibly bowing to Terragov, Nanotrasen separately controls multiple galaxies, holds a monopoly over Plasma research, Laser technology, Psionic technology, and dozens if not hundreds of other industries through a combination of sheer resources, underhanded tactics, and in some cases outright corporate war. There are multiple different stories for Nanotrasen’s origin, however in the hundreds of years since it’s founding along with the immense, bloated, almost unknowable size the only confirmed details are that Nanotrasen started as a small company on earth, and was one of the main drivers of the space race that led to the colonization of the universe.
