History of Sol and Earth

Background

In the year 2053, small reservoirs of plasma (Also known as Phoron) were discovered on the moon. This highly volatile substance was the catalyst that kicked-off humanity’s age of space exploration. Soon enough, humans had spread out to the far corners of the galaxy, colonizing thousands of planets. Mega-Corporations began to surface as the powerhouses of multiple star systems, using their immense wealth to subjugate and exploit the natives of underdeveloped planets to further their own agendas. Many of these Mega-Corporations established themselves as sovereign entities, akin to an earthly autocracy with its own systems of government, security, and justice.

NanoTrasen (NT)

What started out as a relatively small and humble organization tasked by the United Nations in 2055 with exploration and discovery had bolstered itself into possibly the largest single entity in the known galaxy. Using cut-throat business tactics they easily dominated their competition, absorbing many rival corporations into their ranks. They remain the dominant superpower in the research, development, and exploration sectors.
