Nanotrasen stations commonly have nuclear devices onboard in case of two scenarios, an infestation of the blob which is now suspected to be extinct, or the station had rebelled and the responding SRT/ERT have declared the station unsaveable and chosen to scuttle it instead. This system had a failsafe of premature detonation, it had no software to arm the device loaded onto it. Instead the software to arm it was stored inside of a NAD (nuclear authentication disk). This was commonly kept on the captain or head of security. Alongside this failsafe a code was also required to arm it, this was only given to the station if asked for or when the stations automated systems detected a blob infestation. Unfortunately the machine that randomized the codes to the nuclear devices was not truly random, and after heavy research into Redspace, the Syndicate gained access to codes to Nanotrasen's nuclear devices.

Upon initiating a nuclear raid on a site, the marauders would enter into the drop pod and launch themselves at the station, crashing a hole through the station and blitzkrieging the nuclear disk to quickly activate the nuclear device.

Upon grabbing the disk and activation, nuclear operatives are trained to defend the nuclear bomb until it detonates to prevent defusion.

This strategy only works because of Interdyne's newest medical research, cloning.

Cloning was developed around the same time as the Gorlex Marauders was formed, although its quirks weren't fully ironed out yet resulting in the clone Marauders having genetic deformities. These deformities were ironed out after the third drop pod attack was done. But the marauders had actually stated that they liked some of the new bodies the cloning pods created. This would create the species known as Felinid, Harpy, and Rodentia. Interdyne would research these deformities and create a gene therapy procedure to allow customers to become one of these species.
