Chemists can also make less common chemicals ranging from recovering from eye damage, curing a zombie plague, curing a bee sting or assisting a hangover. In an outbreak, you may be asked to work with the medical team to bulk produce a cure. Remember to use the Radio to work closely with the crew.
===Medical Chemicals===
The list of chemicals you can make might look intimidating but when it comes to chemicals that medbay need, there's only a few you should remember.
This is a list of common medical chemicals you would make just about every shift:

=== Prescription/Psychological Chemicals ===
<small>Main page: Psychologist</small>
Some crewmembers have prescriptions that they want refilled or maybe the Psychologist wants something for their patient. Before you make this type of chemical, check to see if the patient has a prescription on record or a pill bottle. They might just be an addict so dispense at your own discretion or the approval of the Chief Medical Officer.

Chemistry comes in many forms. The most important machines are the Chemical Dispenser and the ChemMaster4000. On medium to large stations, there are usually two sets of them for two chemists. On small stations, there is usually only one set for one chemist.

Your chemist locker will contain a vital (10u) of plasma which is used in some medical chemicals. In the case you need more or the vital was taken, this is the tool you would use. A container will need to be loaded into the Reagent Grinder by left clicking on the machine with the object in your active hand. The Auto toggle will allow you to instantly grind or juice material if there's room in the beaker and grinder.
A Grinder can also be used to test the contents of pills. Insert the pill and a beaker and then click [Grind] in order to return the contents of the pill to the beaker in liquid form.

Attention! Station alert level is now Violet! There is a viral threat on the station. Medical staff are advised to isolate crewmembers with any symptoms. Crewmembers are advised to distance themselves from others and perform safety measures to prevent further spread.
As a chemist, your task during a zombie outbreak is to make the cure and make it fast. Here are a few tips you can follow to ensure the cure is made:
# DON'T PANIC. | |||
# Locate an escape route and gear up in case of viral breach in medbay. Most stations have a virology room with gear for this exact scenario. You can't make the cure if you're infected or dead.
# Prepare the chemicals you need for the cure. (Note: While zombies aren't metashielded, it only make sense for you to gear up and prepare when the station alert level change to Violet.)
# Have a syringe ready to draw zombie blood.
# Carry beaker(s) of the chemicals you need and an empty beaker to make the cure wherever you go.
#Cure the infected and distribute the cure. This can easily be done in the form of bottles and pills.

To mix these chemicals, select the jug you want to mix with and select your transfer amount of the chemical by right-clicking the jug while in your hands and 'set transfer amount.' Then pour the chemical into a beaker or an empty jug. You can quickly mass-produce certain chemicals if you know the exact quantities, or you can pour them into beakers to then put into the ChemMaster4000 to then produce pills. | To mix these chemicals, select the jug you want to mix with and select your transfer amount of the chemical by right-clicking the jug while in your hands and 'set transfer amount.' *Some chemicals are easier obtained via Hydroponics Tray medical plants. e.g. Lingzhi when ground produces epinephrine. Medical plants raw can also heal small amounts. The amount varies on the strength (and size) of the plant. Multiple plants can be eaten one after the other to stack their effect. A single max strength poppy is more effective than 0.5u of bicaridine. However, grinding them produces chemicals more effective than eating the plant raw. High strength plants produce more chemicals. | *Some chemicals are easier obtained via Hydroponics Tray medical plants. e.g. Lingzhi when ground produces epinephrine. Aliases and Nicknames: "Chem" |
So, you want a deeper look into Chemistry! Welcome to the orange room, it will be your new home. You're responsible for making any number of chemicals, solvents, cleaners, toxins, and whatever else the crew requires.
Chemistry
Chemists can also make less common chemicals ranging from recovering from eye damage, curing a zombie plague, curing a bee sting or assisting a hangover. In an outbreak, you may be asked to work with the medical team to bulk produce a cure. Remember to use the Radio to work closely with the crew.
Medical Chemicals
The list of chemicals you can make might look intimidating but when it comes to chemicals that medbay need, there's only a few you should remember.
This is a list of common medical chemicals you would make just about every shift:

Chemistry Lab Machines
Chemistry comes in many forms. The most important machines are the Chemical Dispenser and the ChemMaster4000. On medium to large stations, there are usually two sets of them for two chemists. On small stations, there is usually only one set for one chemist.
Chemical Dispenser
The chemical dispenser's main purpose is to hold and dispense chemicals into a beaker. While some chemicals can be mix with just the dispenser, more advance chemicals would require the ChemMaster4000.

To use it, you need to:
- Click on it with a beaker to put a it in. (Note: that if it already has a beaker inside, it will swap it with the one in your hand)
- Open the chemical dispenser's GUI
- Select the amount (u) to add to the beaker
- Select the chemical you want to add to the beaker. (Note: that the chemicals will react instantly)
- Click [Eject]
If you want to clear a beaker, click [Clear]. (Note: It clears the beaker completely regardless of amount setting.
ChemMaster4000
ChemMaster4000's purpose is to store your chemicals, mix said chemicals with more chemicals and separate chemical mixtures. It is also used to make pills and bottles.
There was once a time where pills where the bread and butter of medbay but now, you will really only make pills for prescriptions.
- If you want to make a pill/bottle:
- Ensure that there is a Container loaded in the Input tab that has chemicals in it.
- Add the chemicals. Click the Transfer button next to a chemical to load it to the buffer. ("All" adds everything in the beaker, "5" adds 5u, "10" adds 10u etc.)
- Check the chemicals. All chemical types in the buffer will be output.
- Change to the Output tab.
- Change the label if necessary. As most of your colleagues may not know chemistry, a kind chemist will prefix the label with its effect and dosage. e.g. Brute [Bicar. 25u]
- If you're making pills, set the pill's visual appearance.
- Set the dose .
- Set the amount of pills/bottles you want to create.
- Hit the [Create] button.
Reagent Grinder
The Reagent Grinder enables objects to be ground or liquified.

Zombies
- DON'T PANIC.
- Locate an escape route and gear up in case of viral breach in medbay. Most stations have a virology room with gear for this exact scenario. You can't make the cure if you're infected or dead.
- Prepare the chemicals you need for the cure. (Note: While zombies aren't metashielded, it only make sense for you to gear up and prepare when the station alert level change to Violet.)
- Have a syringe ready to draw zombie blood.
- Carry beaker(s) of the chemicals you need and an empty beaker to make the cure wherever you go.
- Cure the infected and distribute the cure. This can easily be done in the form of bottles and pills.

Jug Chemistry
Jug chemistry is the rough name given to when you don't have a Chemical Dispenser, but you do have jugs of various chemicals available. These 'base ingredients' can be used to mix up any medication you need and more can be ordered from Cargo in various crates.
Note: You will rarely be put in this situation as a chemist.
TIPS
- Lavabeaker-ing is the method of heating 1u of a chemical and adding it back into the ChemMaster4000 with the rest of the amount in order to heat up a large amount of a chemical since chemicals in the ChemMaster retain its temperature.
- Some recipes will require input of external ingredients such as blood, plasma or water.
- Some recipes require multiple interim chemicals. The order that you add chemicals can be important (e.g. to make tricordrazine, make inaprovaline before dylovene). Otherwise you may get unexpected results.
- Some chemicals are easier obtained via Hydroponics Tray medical plants.
